What is the Starter Kit?
Starting a new podcast comes with a lot of decisions! The Podcast Starter Kit makes those first steps easier by helping you create a title, description, categories, and artwork for your show.
We'll guide you through each step, and when you're finished, your podcast will be ready to go! The Starter Kit is available for a one-time payment of $1.
What's included in the Starter Kit?
- A podcast title: Get three title ideas based on your podcast. We'll make sure to suggest a title that isn't already being used by another podcast!
- A podcast description: Choose from three descriptions for your show, then edit your favorite.
- Categories: These show on your listings, and we'll help you pick three.
- Podcast artwork: Choose from three cover designs featuring your podcast title. Each design fits the artwork requirements for podcast directories like Apple Podcasts and Spotify.
How do I purchase the Starter Kit?
There are two ways to get the Starter Kit:
- When you create a new podcast, choose I'm a New Podcaster, then click Buy my Starter Kit for $1.
- If you have already set up an account, head to Settings > Podcast Settings > Podcast Details and click Try the $1 Starter Kit at the top of the page.
Fill out your card details and press Buy My Starter Kit! This is a one-time payment, not a subscription.
Only the podcast owner can buy a Starter Kit. You'll also need to use Buzzsprout in a web browser to purchase and complete your kit, since it isn't available in the Buzzsprout app for iOS or Android.
How does it work?
The Starter Kit builds your podcast one piece at a time, and each choice becomes the foundation for the next. Your description is written around your title, and your artwork is designed around both, so every piece fits together!
- Answer five questions about your show. These questions include what it's about, who it's for, and what makes it unique!
- Pick your title. Pick from three title ideas or select I have a title of my own. Review your categories, then click Lock in my title. Pro tip: Your title is the starting point for everything that follows, so pick the one you're most excited to say out loud.
- Pick your description. Choose one of three descriptions, each written around your title. You can edit the text right in the box. Then click Keep this description.
- Create your artwork. Tell us how you'd like your artwork to feel and choose up to two colors. Click Create my artwork to generate three designs. If none feel quite right, click Create 3 more for one additional set.
Your title, description, categories, and artwork go straight to your podcast, and your kit is complete!
Can I change my podcast details later?
Your podcast is always yours to edit. To finish your Starter Kit later, go to Settings > Podcast Settings > Podcast Details, press See your kit, and then Pick up where you left off.
We'll save everything created for your kit, including the options you didn't choose. Click Download to save your artwork, or download any of your other versions to keep.
You can also directly update your title, description, categories, and artwork anytime in Settings > Podcast Settings > Podcast Details.
