Buzzsprout Transcript Editor

Transcripts can enhance both the accessibility and discoverability of your podcast, and we’re here to help you use them! Buzzsprout Transcripts will generate transcripts for your episodes, and you'll have access to our editor, where you can review and make any necessary changes.

Edit Your Transcript

When you click into each episode, you'll see a "Transcript is Ready" text on the right-hand side of the page, with an "Edit" button below. Click this to use the Buzzsprout Transcripts editor!
From there, click anywhere in the transcript to start editing. You can double-click a word to select it or highlight a phrase and type your correction. editor-overview.png

Here's the actions you can take in the Transcript Editor!

Find and Replace Text

To find a specific word or phrase, click the magnifying glass or press ⌘F on Mac or Ctrl+F on Windows.

Enter the text you're looking for, then use the arrows to move between matches. You can select Replace to update one match or Replace All to update every match in the transcript. CleanShot 2026-10-26 at 15.43.28@2x.png

Remove Filler Words

You can remove filler words like “um” and “uh” from your transcript, too. Removing words changes the transcript text only. It doesn't remove sounds from your episode audio.

In individual episodes, click the magnifying glass in the toolbar to open Find and enter the word you want to remove. Click Replace with…, then open the menu beside Replace All and choose Remove.

To remove a filler word from all episodes, click Autocorrect in the toolbar, enter the word, and click Add to autocorrect.

Update Your Speakers

Click the speaker initials in the toolbar to manage the speakers in your episode. You can preview each voice, update the speaker's name, then click Save Speakers. CleanShot 2026-10-26 at 15.45.19@2x.png

Add Chapters

You can also add chapter markers while editing your transcript!

Click Add Chapter at the beginning of a paragraph, then enter your chapter title. Your chapters will appear alongside your transcript and as bookmarks on the audio player.

To edit a chapter, click its title and make your changes. To remove it, delete the chapter title. image.png

Listen While You Edit

Use the player at the bottom of the editor to listen to your episode while reviewing your transcript. You can play, pause, move through the episode, or adjust the playback speed.

Want to listen from a specific spot? Double-click a word and select Play from here. If you've scrolled away from the playing audio, use Jump to Play Position to return to it.

Save Corrections with Autocorrect

If you make the same correction often, you can save it with Autocorrect! Make your correction in the transcript, then click the green checkmark when Add to autocorrect? appears.

Use Replace for mispellings, and the Remove function to remove filler words like "Um."

We'll update other matches in the current transcript and automatically make the correction in future transcripts for your podcast. To manage your saved corrections, click Autocorrect in the toolbar. From there, you can add, edit, or delete corrections.

Download Your Transcript

Click the download icon in the toolbar to export your transcript as a TXT, SRT, or VTT file.

Use ShortCuts

When you click the question mark on the menu, we'll show a few useful shortcuts:
  • Autosave: We automatically save the changes that you make in the editor, but you can turn that feature off here.
  • ⌘S / Ctrl+S: Save without leaving the editor.
  • ⌘Z / Ctrl+Z: Undo. Add Shift to redo.
  • Enter in Replace: Replace the current match.
  • ⌘Enter / Ctrl+Enter in Replace: Replace all matches.
